Paragon Events are Created Specifically for Dentists.
Paragon Events are created specifically for dentists, and no two are built the same way. Some are designed to help you step back and work on your practice. Others are built to connect you with other successful doctors and broaden your perspective. Knowing the difference matters when you’re deciding which event is the right fit for where your practice is right now.
Our Paragon Program™ meetings are included within the program and open only to our clients, and their team members when applicable. Below, we break down what each type of event actually is, so you can decide which ones make sense for you this year.
The Three Ways to Think About a Paragon Event
At the highest level, a Paragon Event falls into one of three categories, depending on what you’re trying to get out of it:
- Excelleration Meetings ask, “What do I need to change in my practice?” These are focused, doctor-only meetings built around your numbers, your growth, and what’s working (or not) inside your own four walls.
- Roundtables ask, “Let’s get a group of doctors together and talk through this specific problem.” These are smaller, topic- or peer-specific conversations built around a shared challenge or interest.
- The Success Network asks, “What are other successful doctors doing, and who can I learn from?” These are relationship-focused, destination-based events built to broaden your perspective beyond your own practice.
We also host Local and National Study Clubs as part of the full Paragon Events calendar. Use the filters below to find events by location and type, or read on for more detail on what each event type involves.
Excelleration Meetings: Work On Your Practice
Excelleration Meetings are about proven results through peak practice performance and growth. Paragon implemented Excelleration in 2007 specifically to help doctors accelerate toward practice excellence, their goals, and their larger ambitions.
These are doctor-only events, held regionally throughout the year. Recent and upcoming Excelleration Meetings include Rocky Mountain, Ohio, Indiana, and East Coast Excelleration, giving you a regional option no matter where your practice is located.
An Excelleration Meeting is best described as a focused business-growth session where you step away from day-to-day patient care to work on the practice itself. Expect a structured, educational format built around questions like: What are my numbers? What’s working? What needs to change? How do I grow from here? If you’re looking for direct, practice-specific answers, Excelleration is the place to find them.
Roundtables: Talk Through a Specific Problem With Your Peers
Where Excelleration is about your practice as a whole, Roundtables zero in on one topic or one peer group at a time. Paragon lists Conferences & Roundtables separately from the Success Network for exactly this reason. These are smaller, more focused conversations built around a shared area of interest.
Past and upcoming Roundtables have included a General Practitioner Implant Roundtable and a Go Getter 39 & Under Roundtable, each built around doctors who share a specific practice focus or career stage. If you have a particular challenge or interest you want to dig into with peers who understand it firsthand, a Roundtable is designed for exactly that conversation.
The Success Network: Learn From Other Successful Doctors
The Success Network was created in 2003 to connect Paragon’s national doctors and broaden their success. Unlike Excelleration, these events are intentionally held in memorable destination locations and are built for both doctors and their spouses, with the goal of creating lasting relationships beyond the usual practice environment.
Our Winter Retreat is a good example of how a Success Network event is structured. Mornings are reserved for business meetings, with an educational program mixing lectures, doctor-led “pearls,” and focused discussions on leadership, operations, marketing, insurance, financial, and clinical topics. Afternoons are left open for leisure and group activities, giving the event room to be both substantive and genuinely enjoyable.
The Success Network isn’t less educational than Excelleration, it’s simply less narrowly focused on the immediate operational side of your practice. Where Excelleration helps you improve what’s happening inside your own walls, the Success Network helps you see what’s possible by learning directly from doctors who are already there.
Which Event Is Right for You?
If you’re asking, “What do I need to change in my practice right now?”, start with an Excelleration Meeting. If you have one specific issue or interest you want to explore with a focused peer group, look for a relevant Roundtable. If you’re ready to step back, build relationships with other successful doctors, and broaden your perspective beyond your day-to-day operations, the Success Network is built for that.
Many of our clients attend a mix of all three over the course of their membership, using Excelleration and Roundtables to sharpen what’s happening inside the practice, and the Success Network to stay connected to a broader community of doctors working toward the same kind of growth.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to be a current Paragon Program™ client to attend an event?
Yes. Paragon Program™ meetings are included within the program and open only to our clients, and their team members when applicable.
Can I bring my team to every event?
Team member attendance depends on the event type. Excelleration Meetings and Roundtables are generally built for doctors, while some Success Network events, including our Winter Retreat, are designed for doctors and their spouses. Contact us if you’re unsure which events allow additional attendees.
What’s the difference between a Roundtable and a Success Network event?
A Roundtable is a smaller, focused conversation built around one specific topic or peer group, such as implants or younger doctors early in their careers. A Success Network event is broader and relationship-focused, built to connect you with other successful doctors in a destination setting over a longer period of time.
How often are these events held?
Excelleration Meetings are held regionally multiple times throughout the year, giving you several options close to home. Success Network events are held less frequently and are typically national or international destination events.
